Manitou Days Community Garage Sale

Want to get of rid of stuff or looking for some great deals? Join us for the 12th Annual Community Garage Sale on June 16, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. We expect to have a great crowd to buy and sell items with over 100 different sellers.  The event will also be filled with free activities including 3 inflatables and a free lunch 11am-1 pm that is provided by First Lutheran and United Methodist Churches while supplies last.  It will be a great time and will be bigger and better this year.  Be sure not to miss out!

May 19: Neighborhood Service Day

Do you want to get out and serve our neighborhood by assisting neighbors with their spring clean up? Come join a group 9-11:30 a.m. You just bring a rake, work gloves, and a willing heart to serve. If you need help with your lawn or know of another neighbor that needs some help please contact .

Operation HOM (Homeless Outreach Ministry)

Operation HOM is our partnership with three interrelated organizations that serve homeless families. The Ramsey County Family Service Center is the only full-time shelter for homeless families in Ramsey County. The Family Place is a day-shelter for overflow families, and Project Home coordinates nighttime shelter for overflow families in churches like ours.  We are actively involved with each of these partners in a variety of ways. Some ways to get involved include:

• Bedtime story readers (third Monday of the month 6:45-7:45 pm)
• Diaper duty - deliver diapers to the Family Service Center (volunteers needed monthly)
• Hosting homeless families at the church (seasonal opportunity)

Operation Neighbor(hood)

Jesus said "Love your neighbor(hood) as yourself."  Operation Neighbor(hood) is our commitment to love and serve First Lutheran's immediate neighborhood. We do this through hosting the co-op Fare for All Express which provides groceries at a reduced price, a huge Community Garage Sale in our parking lot, multiple initiative to suppor the local food shelf, and many more events and regular service partnerships. To get involved or find out more, contact .

Other Opportunities

People at First serve selflessly in countless other ways in their neighborhoods, cities, and workplaces.  A few other place we serve and support are Global Health Ministries, Loaves and Fishes, Feed My Starving Children, Minnesota Teen Challenge, and CURE.
