New to First

Thanks for stopping by to visit us online. No matter who you are or where you've been, you're welcome here. You're welcome to join us at one of our weekly worship services or be a part of one of our many acts of love and service to our community. Feel free to browse through these pages to see how FLC might help you discover the life-giving power of a relationship with Jesus.

We worship in both traditional and contemporary styles on Sunday mornings, and we are committed to faithful excellence in our ministry programs for children, students and adults of all ages throughout the week.

Our mission at First Lutheran is to be and make disciples of Jesus, who are growing spiritually, practicing community, and serving selflessly. Can you imagine how great life would be if Jesus were in charge? Some day that will be true, and we're trying to live like it now. We'd love for you to find a place here at FLC, but even more importantly we hope that you find the the fullness of life in Jesus Christ.

Q: How do I get there?

A: We are located at 4000 Linden Street in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. Click here for a map and directions from your home.

Q: What times are your services?

A: Traditional services are at 9 and 10:30 a.m. in our Sanctuary. Contemporary services are also at 9 and 10:30 a.m. in our Fellowship Hall.

Q: What styles of music do you have?

A: We have two traditional worship services in which we sing some of the classic and best loved hymns of the Christian tradition. We also have two contemporary worship services featuring a worship band that leads us in worship through contemporary songs from today's worship leaders like Matt Redman, Chris Tomlin, David Crowder, Hillsong, Steve Fee, and more. Both worship styles help us - and you - engage with God in a way that is natural and comfortable.

Q: Is there childcare available?

A: Yes! But it's more than just a babysitting service! From our babies to our teens, the adult volunteers at First Lutheran see your child as a person with a capacity to grow spiritually no matter what the age. Ask the person who greets you at the door to help you find the right location for your child and they will be glad to assist you.

* A parent-child room with a screen broadcasting the services is also available during all services located in the Lounge.

Q: Do I have to dress up?

A: No! There are no dress codes here. We have people who are dressed in a suit and tie worshipping beside people wearing jeans and a t-shirt. We want you to feel comfortable as you enter in to worship. We believe worship is not as much about what we are wearing on the outside as much as it is about the state of our heart on the inside.

Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. (Colossians 3:16).
