Quilters
A warm group of women that meet at church every Monday morning at 9:30 a.m. to share, enjoy fellowship, and work in the making of quilts to warm the hearts and bodies of those in need. The group makes over two hundred quilts each year. Many are sent to Vinland Center, Global Health Ministries, and Slumberland's annual bed giveaway. Baby quilts are made for Global Health and various other places.
In 2009, the Quilters started making a youth size quilt, completed 38 for Project Home and distributed to homeless families that stayed at our church during November. As appropriate fabric is donated, they will continue making this size for homeless children.
There is a continual need for fabric remnants and yarn from your home sewing, especially cotton and cotton blends big enough to cut 6 1/2 or 8 1/2 squares. The quilters appreciate your many continuing donations; without them they could not do this work. Bring them with you when you come to help or drop at the Receptionist Desk any time.
