- Courageous Discussion Group for Men: Wednesdays, 6:30-8 p.m. starting February 1. Using the movie Courageous as a basis for study, this group is meant to encourage fathers and strengthen families. This group will be an expanded version of the fall Courageous study, involving eight weeks of going deeper into the Biblical truth for a godly family, exploring topics such as redeeming your history, walking with integrity, and winning and blessing the hearts of your children. Facilitated by Brent Voight, Todd Wahlstrom, and Perry Petersen.
- Spiritual Parenting: Wednesdays, 6:30-8 p.m. starting February 1. God’s design is for families to pass down faith and life in God from generation to generation. This book discussion group will help inspire and equip parents to raise their children in ways that cultivate a living faith that lasts for eternity and to long for more than “just getting through the day.” Please purchase Spiritual Parenting by Michelle Anthony in a local Christian bookstore or online by Feb. 1. Facilitated by Casey Doyle.
- Alpha: Wednesdays, 6-8 p.m. starting February 1. Over 1.5 million people have taken the Alpha course in the USA, 650 at First Lutheran Church! Alpha is a great place to “jump start” your faith, to explore the meaning of life, and learn more about Christianity and Jesus. Time is centered around a meal, a talk, and small group discussion. Alpha is a place where any question is welcome, and there are “no strings attached.” Facilitated by Kari Charboneau.
- Financial Peace University: Tuesdays 6:30-8 p.m. starting February 21. In 13 action-packed lessons, you'll learn how to beat debt, build wealth, find bargains, invest for the future, give like never before, and much more! The average family pays off $5300 in debt and saves $2700 in just the first 90 days. Cost is $100. Facilitated by Jeff Montgomery.
- First Lutheran Dinner Groups: Would you like to share a time of good food and fellowship with other adults at First Lutheran? How about a chance to get better acquainted with people you greet in the hallway and after service but don’t really know? Here’s how First Lutheran dinner groups work: Each group is composed of six to ten people. The groups are formed based on what time you would like to get together and whether you want to eat out or at each other’s homes. At the first gathering the group will decide how often and what particular dates to meet. Groups can choose to meet monthly, bimonthly, or quarterly. Five new groups from last fall’s sign up have been meeting to enjoy food and fellowship.
