Children's Ministry

Welcome to Children's Ministry at First Lutheran Church. We are excited to offer programs and services for children birth to grade six.

We believe that children are not just the church of the future, but that they play a vibrant role in the church today.

In Luke 18:16 Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these." We believe that he meant what he said and we strive to provide opportunities for children to come to Jesus.

Sunday School

For children age three through grade six is available during the worship service times. Children worship with their families for the first 15-20 minutes and are then released after the Children's Message.

First Steps

A Wednesday night program for children age three through five (pre-school) that meets from 6:30-8.

Kids First

This is our Wednesday night program for children in kindergarten through grade six. We meet from 6:30-8. Children sing on Sunday mornings a few times each year.

Nursery

You will find our nursery staffed by church employees available to children birth through age four from 8:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. on Sunday mornings and 6:20 to 8:10 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Kids Handbells

This is an opportunity for children in grades three through nine on Wednesday nights from 5:30-6:30.

Special Events

These include the Hallelujah Festival in October and the Easter Egg Hunt the weekend of Easter. These are free events and the community is invited and encouraged to join us.

Summer Programs

These include Vacation Bible School (VBS), Riverside Bible Camp, and Musical Theatre Camp. Watch bulletins and newsletters for details.

Baptism Class

This class is for anyone wishing to have a baptism at First Lutheran Church. It is offered every other month on a Sunday from 11:45-1:15 p.m. Lunch and childcare are provided. Watch bulletins and newsletters for specific dates.
