Get Married at First Lutheran Church?
If you're reading this article, maybe we should say...Congratulations on your engagement!
We believe that the good news of God's grace in Jesus changes lives now and forever. And we know that a Christian marriage is one place where that grace can be lived out.
We want you to have a beautiful wedding, but even more, we want you to have a beautiful marriage. Here's the process we've laid out to help you plan for a wonderful wedding and a healthy Christian marriage:
- Stop by the church to pick up a wedding packet, fill out the necessary reservation forms, and pay you initial weddings fees. Please contact our wedding coordinator for help with this process.
- Complete the PREPARE premarital relationship inventory and feedback sessions with the pastor who will be performing your wedding. These sessions are designed to help you connect with God and with each other as you discuss the spiritual, emotional, and practical issues of your lives together. Your pastor will help you determine the kind of preparation that best suits your situation.
- Participate in one of our Marriage at First weekend retreats. These retreasts include 4-6 premarriage couples and are lead by a marriage and family counselor. They meet on a Friday evening and Saturday morning 3-4 times each year.
- Finalize the details of your wedding service with your pastor and pay in full the appropriate fees.

Arrange for a Baptism at First Lutheran Church?
We baptize people of all ages at First Lutheran. Older children and adults who wish to be baptized as disciples of Jesus Christ should contact one of our pastors. In addition to baptisms during our worship services, we celebrate baptisms as a group in White Bear Lake once or twice a year, and we'd love to take this step of faith with you.
Parents of infants and young children are required to attend a Baptism class before having their child baptized at First Lutheran. Unless you are paticipating in one of our baptisms at the lake, all other baptisms will be part of a Sunday Morning service except in special circumstances.
